Asus has launched the new generation of their premium ZenBook Pro 15 with beasty specs. The new ZenBook 15 will support the latest generation of Intel processors. The inclusion of the new top of the line Intel processors can rival the likes of MacBooks or the Surface laptops. Apple is due to launch a new MacBook this year in September. However, if you are currently in the market for a powerful and beasty laptop the new ZenBook Pro 15 cannot be a bad option. The new ZenBook 15 also sports a thin bezel design with a screen to body ratio close to 83%.
The base variant of the new Asus ZenBook will come with a core i5-8300H processor along with a core i7- 8750H both having a boost speed of 4.00GHz and 4.1 GHz respectively. Just when you thought the specs were impressive, Asus has a bigger surprise. The ZenBook Pro 15 UX550GD comes with Intel’s greatest core i9 processor with 12MB of cache memory. The inclusion of core i9 8th Gen Intel processor will attract the professional users looking for top of the line specs.
In addition, the new ZenBook Pro 15 also comes with a 4GB GDDR5 GeForce GTX 1050 graphics card to take advantage of the great display. Talking about the display, the base variant comes with a 1920x1080p panel with an option to upgrade to a touchscreen panel. Additionally, you also have the option to upgrade to a 4K display which is going to be a touchscreen panel by default.
Storage options on the ZenBook Pro are all based on SSD with the 256GB or 512 GB SATA 3 SSD or 512 GB/ 1TB PCIe SSD. All these beasty specs are to be cooled down by Asus three heat pipe design that can dissipate the heat effectively. This will ensure you can use the device without any stutter or slowing down.
One thing that makes it more desirable is the IO ports on the laptop. Unlike the MacBook Pro, these ZenBook Pros have a plentiful with 2 USB Type-C 3.1 ports with thunderbolt support along with 2 Full-Size USB 3.1 ports, HDMI port, Headphone jack and even an SD Card reader. The connectivity on the device is not far behind with WiFi 802.11 ac support and Bluetooth 5.0 support. All of the above is powered by a fast charging 71Wh cell. Asus claims the battery can be charged from 0-60% in just 49 minutes.
Well, I am impressed with the specs and surely looking to get my hands on the device soon. It is likely to be coming in June with prices close to $1500 for the base. The top model can reach upward $2000 if we go with the past pricing of the ZenBook pro models.
